Hey
Attorney, journalist, and George magazine founder
He was the son of President John F. Kennedy who founded George magazine and died in a 1999 plane crash at age 38.
John F. Kennedy Jr. was an American attorney, journalist, and magazine publisher born November 25, 1960, in Washington, D.C., the son of President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. He founded George magazine in 1995, blending politics and pop culture, and worked as an assistant district attorney in Manhattan for nearly four years. Standing 6'1" tall, he died at age 38 on July 16, 1999, in a plane crash off Martha's Vineyard while piloting a Piper Saratoga.
He lived in the White House until age three, when his father was assassinated on November 22, 1963, and famously saluted his father's flag-draped casket on his third birthday in an image NBC called the most impressive shot in television history. After graduating from Brown University in 1983 with a degree in American studies, he earned his law degree from NYU in 1989 and passed the bar exam on his third attempt. He worked as an assistant district attorney in New York City from 1989 to 1993 before launching his magazine career.
He dated actresses including Daryl Hannah and Sarah Jessica Parker before marrying Carolyn Bessette in a secret ceremony on Cumberland Island, Georgia, on September 21, 1996. On July 16, 1999, he piloted his Piper Saratoga from New Jersey toward Martha's Vineyard with his wife Carolyn and her sister Lauren Bessette aboard, traveling to his cousin Rory Kennedy's wedding, when the plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean in poor visibility conditions, killing all three passengers. His remains were cremated and his ashes were scattered at sea near Martha's Vineyard in a ceremony attended by President Bill Clinton and family members on July 23, 1999.
People magazine named him Sexiest Man Alive in 1988 when he was 27 years old.
He stood 6 feet 1 inch tall and was often called America's Prince by the media.
He passed the New York bar exam on his third attempt after failing twice.
He had only 310 hours of flying experience and 55 hours of night flight time when he died.
He appeared in the 1991 film A Matter of Degrees as Guitar Playing Romeo in his only acting role.
I think history will judge my father's legacy based on his words, not his years.
Only the trying on of something new can help you discover if it suits you.
I want to be remembered for the work I do, not for who my parents were.
