She starred in iconic films including Blade Runner (1982), Splash (1984), Steel Magnolias (1989), and Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill series (2003-2004). Parker School in Chicago before studying ballet and acting at the University of Southern California, making her film debut at age 17 in Brian De Palma's The Fury (1978).
Hannah married Canadian-American musician Neil Young in July 2018 after beginning their relationship in 2014. She previously dated several notable figures including John F. A lifelong environmental activist, she became vegan at age 11 after meeting a calf destined for slaughter, drives a biodiesel vehicle, and was arrested in 2006 while protesting the demolition of a community farm in Los Angeles.
She stands 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 meters) tall.
Hannah was 21 years old when she filmed her breakthrough role as the replicant Pris in Blade Runner (1982), performing her own gymnastic stunts.
She lost part of her index finger in a childhood accident.
Hannah appeared in music videos for Clarence Clemons and Jackson Browne in 1985, including providing backing vocals for 'You're a Friend of Mine.'
She directed the 2025 documentary Coastal about Neil Young's concert tour and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Music Film in 2023.
