The Cancer-born artist transitioned from Broadway and Nickelodeon to become one of the best-selling music artists of all time, while also earning an Academy Award nomination for her role as Glinda in Wicked (2024).
Grande grew up in Boca Raton, Florida, performing with the Fort Lauderdale Children's Theater in productions of Annie, The Wizard of Oz, and Beauty and the Beast. At age eight, she sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" at a Florida Panthers game and performed with South Florida orchestras. She landed her first major role in the Broadway musical 13 in 2008, then gained widespread recognition playing Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon's Victorious (2010,2013) and its spin-off Sam & Cat (2013,2014), though she remained focused on pursuing a music career throughout her acting work.
Grande is the daughter of Joan Grande, CEO of Hose-McCann Communications, and Edward Butera, a graphic designer, and has an older half-brother, entertainer Frankie Grande. Her dating history has included relationships with rapper Mac Miller, comedian Pete Davidson, and real estate agent Dalton Gomez, whom she married in 2021 and divorced in 2023.
