Zvika Hadar is an Israeli comedian, actor, and television host who rose to fame in the 1990s. He hosted the talent show Kokhav Nolad for ten seasons and starred in the hit sitcom Shemesh for six seasons from 1997 to 2004. He has won five Golden Screen Awards and remains one of Israel's most recognized entertainment figures.
Born Zvi Fruchter in Beersheba to Romanian Jewish parents who immigrated in 1963, Hadar studied piano as a child. He served as an officer in the IDF air defense and reached the rank of major in reserves. After military service, he studied theater and acting at Tel Aviv University while beginning to perform standup comedy with the Comedy Store group.
Hadar is a devoted supporter of Hapoel Be'er Sheva football club and hosted their championship celebrations in 2016, 2017, and 2018. In September 2012, he suffered cardiac arrest at a Tel Aviv clinic but was revived by a cardiologist who performed CPR. He performs standup comedy shows across Israel and has collaborated extensively with Teddy Productions.
