He is best known for winning the Ophir Award for his role in the iconic Israeli film 'Life According to Agfa' in 1992.
Sharon Alexander is an Israeli actor born in 1962 who has appeared in over 30 films and numerous television series since 1977. He won the Ophir Award for Best Leading Actor for his role in Assi Dayan's 'Life According to Agfa' in 1992.
Alexander grew up in Gani Tzahala neighborhood in northern Tel Aviv and later moved with his family to Ramat Hasharon. He began performing as a child, working professionally as a magician at birthday parties from age 10 to 18. At 17 he landed his first leading film role in 'Wounds of Maturity 80' alongside Dalia Shimko, and after military service in the Paratroopers Brigade, he graduated from Beit Zvi School of Performing Arts in 1987 with two excellence scholarships.
Alexander co-founded a professional acting and on-camera performance school in 1995 with his then-partner Smadar Kilchinsky, which operated for about eight years. He has taught acting at the Tel Aviv University film program, Beit Zvi, and the Academy for Performing Arts in Tel Aviv from 2011 to 2020. He is one of the founders of the Screen Actors Guild in Israel, established in 1999, which now has over 2,500 members.
