Seth Rogen is a Canadian-American actor, comedian, and filmmaker born April 15, 1982, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Known for his deadpan comedy style and prolific collaborations with writing partner Evan Goldberg and producer Judd Apatow, he has starred in hit comedies including Knocked Up, Superbad, Pineapple Express, and Neighbors. He has won four Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award, and voices iconic animated characters in Kung Fu Panda, The Lion King, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Rogen grew up in a Jewish family in Vancouver and began performing stand-up comedy at age 12 after enrolling in a workshop taught by Mark Pooley. At 13, he co-wrote the first draft of Superbad with childhood friend Evan Goldberg, whom he met at bar mitzvah classes. He landed his breakout role on Judd Apatow's Freaks and Geeks at 16, prompting him to drop out of Point Grey Secondary School and move to Los Angeles, where he became his family's main wage earner and made his film debut in Donnie Darko in 2001.
Rogen married American actress Lauren Miller on October 2, 2011, in Sonoma County, California, after dating since 2004 when they met working on Da Ali G Show. The couple has stated they do not plan to have children. He maintains close friendships and frequent collaborations with James Franco, Jonah Hill, and his lifelong writing partner Evan Goldberg. Rogen is 5 feet 11 inches tall, holds dual Canadian-American citizenship, and despite sharing a similar surname, has no family relation to podcaster Joe Rogan. He revealed in January 2021 that he has mild Tourette syndrome, a condition that has appeared in his family history.
